The club’s achievements in recent seasons were honoured by the city at a Lord Mayor’s reception on August 19th. Players and committee members heard the Lord Mayor, Councillor Terry Westgate, praise the work that the club has done. “It is a real community club,” he said, “and caters for people from all backgrounds.” The Lord Mayor, who was accompanied by his wife the Mayoress and City Council Leader Councillor Robert Thomas, was presented with a club plaque by Canterbury president John Scurr.
