The RFU’s of Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Italy declare the 2019/2020 null and void.
So to be different England Rugby don’t!!
In order to completely comply with Saracensgate they have found a formula to ensure promotion and relegation across all leagues including play-off results!! Congratulations then to our West Kent colleagues TJs who find themselves in National 1 next season (whenever that starts).
The 1st XV will be back at level 4 National 2 South with opposition of Redruth / Barnstaple / Clifton / Dings / Guernsey / Henley / Worthing / Bury St Edmunds / Leicester Lions / Esher / Barnes / Westcliff / Rochford Hundred / Old Albanians and probably Hinckley who will move from National 2 North under Level transfer.
So, we will be welcoming some old faces and some new to The MTG. I’m sure you will make them all feel very welcome.
Therefore, all the remaining senior sides, Mens & Ladies have all now had their league positions determined. So, my thanks to all the players who have worn the Black and Amber this season.
April is traditionally the month for numerous Youth and Mini Festivals leading into a number of age group tours. Deep disappointment I’m sure amongst those coaches, players and parents. I feel for you… Time to re-group/re-plan and go again for 2020/2021.
We undoubtedly have some huge challenges to face and nearly all of them centre around finances. Mike Dodd, the Treasurer, is working his ‘retirement’ socks off to ensure we have a number of budgets to review for the season ahead and we all owe him a huge thank-you for undertaking that task. Changes across the board are inevitable as we are set the challenge to start again after Covid 19.
It is vital that during these times that the Club looks after all of its members….if anyone wants help or if anyone knows of anyone who needs help then James Limmer, 4th team captain is the go to person. Please email him email@example.com. Please, please do let him know. All will be on a strictly confidential basis.
There is a lot to re-plan when we can. We have lost our City Lunch, our Sponsors Lunch and the May Ball. All of these are vital income streams to the Club so keep your eye out for the re-arranged dates!!
Ted’s Sports Quiz on Wednesday was a lot of fun… if you would like to join in then please email him on firstname.lastname@example.org.
And keep an eye out on Facebook for more garden challenges..!!
I would suggest that it is pretty unlikely that the NatWest RugbyForce Day planned for 27th June 2020 will go-ahead but hopefully as things begin to ease that certain projects could be undertaken by volunteers at the correct social distancing but let’s see…
Just one final plea if I may..
