Canterbury play their second pre-season friendly at the Marine Travel Ground on Saturday when they meet Esher, one of the clubs they have replaced in National Division One. The game kicks off at the earlier time of 1pm so that players and supporters can watch the England v Ireland international later in the afternoon.
Newly relegated Esher, who have spent many seasons in National Division One, will provide a benchmark challenge for the city club. Under the direction of former England flanker Peter Winterbottom and Chris Wilkins, the former Kent and England Counties coach, they will be one of the favourites to make a swift return to the higher level.
