BECKENHAM 2ND 17 CANTERBURY PILGRIMS 55
Wingman Dom Barnaby ran in four of Pilgrims nine tries as they raced to a comprehensive victory in their second Invicta Division One outing. The city side wrapped up the game in the first half as they left Beckenham trailing by 43-7 at the break. Life was more even after the interval but the home side could never repair the earlier damage. A first minute try for wing Jack Weaver set the tone for Canterbury. Frankie Morgan soon made his presence felt in the centee, scoring the second try and making the break for another by Wilbur Edwards. Barnaby then added two more to push the Pilgrims lead to 31 before Beckenham found a response with a converted try. But they could not close the gate against some vibrant Pilgrims attacking as Kyan Brathwaite was the next over the line and before the half closed Barnbay completed his hat trick. A half time pep talk did wonders for Beckenham and they spent plenty of time in Canterbury territory after the interval. They were rewarded with two further scores, one converted, but Izaak Timms replied for Pilgrims and the flying Barnaby rounded things off. Alex Miller (4) and Braithwaite topped up five of the Pilgrims tries with conversions.
