Canterbury 3rd XV v East Peckham 1st XV
Match Report
The game got off to an auspicious start, with smart handling and physical running in the mid field making space for winger Ollie Simpson to gallop. Canterbury quickly followed this up with a powerful try from Luke Murray, but East Peckham kept themselves in the game by punishing Canterbury’s ill discipline with three pointers. The first half continued in this way – Canterbury tries, including particularly memorable solo efforts from Brad Allchurch and JJ Gallagher, followed up by East Peckham penalties.
In the second half Canterbury accelerated through Andre Allen (three tries), Ollie Simpson (two more to complete the hat-trick), Simon Jaynes and Brad Allchurch for his second. Especially worth noting was Andre Allen’s third try, in which he covered something close to 200 metres on a diagonal run the length of the pitch. Man of the match went to Alex Fever for his aggressive carrying.
