Match Report
Pilgrims return to form was underlined by another decisive Zoo League win. For the second week running they topped the 40 point mark, scoring eight tries in the process. Despite going behind to an early Barnes try the city side built a comfortable 27-10 lead by half time. Jack Weaver sprinted clear for the first Pilgrims try and there were two for Reilly Strutt while Tom Williams and Aiden Moss, on his return from injury, also crossed the line. Barnes were again first on the scoreboard in the second half, adding a third try and a conversion, but Pilgrims quickly resumed control. Skipper Alex Wake-Smith barged over and Moss grabbed his second to put the game beyond Barnes reach. They did get a consolation try but Charlie Kingsman rounded things off with Canterbury’s eighth try and his third successful conversion.
