Sam Rogers makes his comeback after 19 months out through injury, Last years Captain returns for a cameo, Max Van-Vuren makes his senior debut, Joel Drake plays his first game for the Pilgrims for more than a year, and Elliott White makes his comeback and scores!
The Pilgrims kicked off, won the ball, then put a great move together and Kieran Thompson scored in the first minute. A silly penalty allowed Beckenham to make it 5-3. An excellent backs move put Miller through for the first of his four tries, 10-3. More good passing from Alex Meads put Miller though again, but for the third time he missed the conversion! 15-3.
Joel Drake then powered over for a try after good work by Thompson for Meads to convert 22-3. The pack were now dominating and the backs running rings round the visitors. This was flowing rugby at its best. Elliott White bulldozes his way through to score, Meads converted. Then Kieran Thompson runs from his own half and scores a brilliant solo, unconverted, try, 34-3.
Beckenham then have a player yellow carded for a dump tackle! Canterbury take a player off to play 14 a-side. Meads goes on a solo run, but drops the ball. Joel Drake scores his second, converted by Meads. Max Van-Vuuren comes on and makes a great run through the middle and gives the ball to Meads, who scores a try to add to his conversions, a 17 point haul for the game. Half time the Pilgrims go in 48-3 up.
Louis Champman-Coombes score his first try for the club, Meads converts. The visitors get back to 15, the home side stay at 14, Miller then runs in two more tries, and the Pilgrims win 67-3. 11 tries, a happy Coach and the next game away on January 5th v Old Alleynians.
