Match Report
Pilgrims bounced back in style from the previous week’s heavy defeat as they ran in ten tries. Barney Howard led the way in his side’s second Zoo League victory with four tries and full back Aiden Moss claimed a hat trick. The dismantling of Ealing began in the first five minutes when ball won by the impressive Hamish Veitch resulted in a try for Frank Morgan and result was beyond doubt as Pilgrims cantered to a 40-15 lead by half time. Barney Howard completed a hat trick, Moss added his second try with a fine solo run and while the home side were never short of fight as they replied with three unconverted ties, they could not match Pilgrims attacking flair.
The combination of individual skills a dominant pack and some excellent work by the back division ensured that the city side stayed well on top in the second half. There were further tries for Guy Hilton, following a great run, Barney Howard, Moss and Ross Howard. Together with Will Hilton’s eight conversions it was a comprehensive performance which left Ealing with only a late try as consolation.
