Match Report

Canterbury continued their winning streak with a comfortable win over a depleted Folkestone 2s.

Folkestone, who remained in the game despite injury eventually reducing them  to thirteen men, pressured Canterbury in the first half with astute kicking, powerful running and organised defence. The city side did find space and convert it into points, though, with Brad Allchurch evading tacklers down the right before feeding Sam Payne to run it in. Folkestone responded with a penalty, but further tries for Jamie Evans and Jonnie Guest, both out wide, gave Canterbury breathing space at the half despite a Folkestone score.

In the second half  Canterbury started finding more space against a tired defence – Allchurch crashed through from close range and Ollie Simpson ran in from half way after a slick backline move. Folkestone did get a consolation score after Canterbury temporarily decided tackling was optional, but further tries for Dan Mills and Allchurch led to a comfortable  win for the visitors.
