A second half collapse saw Pilgrims go down to heavy Zoo League defeat. Losing, three players to injury did not help but the city side will have to show more fight if they are to make progress. There was no indication that they would fold so easily as they took an early lead and in an even contested first half were only nine point adrift at half time. Guy Hilton crossed or Canterbury in the first two minutes and the lead changed hands three times before Hertford gained control. Charlie Knight scored Pilgrims second try and Alex Miller added a conversion and a penalty goal. Hertford got four tries before the interval, one a penalty try, but then cut loose.
Canterbury had no answers as they shipped 40 points without reply in timid second half effort.
