Looking to play?
The club offers a variety of playing opportunities for players of all abilities, experience and aspirations.
Whether you’re young, not so young, male, female, experienced or new to the game, Canterbury RFC should have an option for you:
Men’s Rugby Union
Senior male players are roughly divided into three categories:
- Contracted – these players form the wider 1st XV squad and are registered with the RFU to play semi-professionally in National League 2 (South)
- Development – players who have aspirations to play for the club’s top three teams and beyond.
- Social – players who simply want to have a good, competitive match at the weekend when other commitments allow it. Perfect for veterans, players learning the game for the first time or returning to it after a long period out.
Training is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 7.30pm with games usually played on Saturday afternoons.
Women’s Rugby Union
The club has run a Women’s team for over 25 years. As with the rest of the club, all abilities and levels are experience are very welcome so why not come down and give it a go?!
Training takes place on a Thursday evening at 6pm with most matches being played on Sunday afternoons.
Mini & Junior Rugby Union
The club caters for all ages from 4-18. Enjoyment of the game and fostering a lifelong passion for rugby union are the most important goals. Volunteers coaches are RFU qualified and all hold DBS checks.
Training, matches and festivals take place on Sunday mornings.
The club has a Touch Rugby section for the mixed, non-contact version of the game. It is played throughout the year and again caters for all experiences etc.
