Canterbury RFC Celebrates Life Vice Presidency Honour for Taff Gwilliam
Canterbury RFC is proud to congratulate our Director of Rugby, Andrew ‘Taff’ Gwilliam, on being awarded the prestigious honour of Life Vice President of Kent County RFU, in recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to rugby across the county.
The award was formally presented on Saturday 31 October when Kent County RFU Chair Roger Clarke visited Canterbury RFC to personally present Taff with his citation and Life Vice President’s Shield.
For more than two decades, Taff has been one of the most influential figures in Kent rugby. His contribution to the game has extended far beyond the club environment, with a longstanding involvement in the Kent Senior Men’s representative programme, where he has undertaken both coaching and management roles. Through his commitment and leadership, he has played a significant part in the development and success of representative rugby across the county.
Taff’s passion for growing the game has also been evident through his extensive work in coach development. Over many years, he has generously shared his knowledge and experience with coaches throughout Kent, helping to nurture talent, strengthen coaching pathways, and support the future of the county game.
This is not the first time Taff’s contribution has been recognised. In 2012, he received the Kent County RFU President’s Award, highlighting the impact he has made on rugby at every level.
As Taff prepares to step down from his County Director of Rugby responsibilities at Christmas, this latest honour is a fitting tribute to the time, expertise and commitment he has devoted to Kent rugby throughout his distinguished career.
Everyone at Canterbury RFC is immensely proud to see Taff receive this well-deserved recognition. His influence on players, coaches and volunteers has helped shape countless rugby journeys, and his dedication to both Canterbury and Kent rugby continues to leave a lasting legacy.
Congratulations, Taff, on this outstanding and thoroughly deserved honour.
