Senior Men and Women. The next generation. One club.

Canterbury Rugby is inviting members, supporters, partners and the wider community to the Marine Travel Ground on Thursday 20 August for a special pre-season evening showcasing where our club is today, and the pathways we are building for the future.

Canterbury and Ashford will come together for pre-season rugby, with the Senior Men’s joint session starting at 7.30pm.

But this evening is about much more than one senior training session.

It is an opportunity to celebrate rugby across the club, with particular focus on the continuing growth of Women and Girls rugby at Canterbury.

A pathway that continues to grow

Canterbury Women have come a long way since the section was formed.

Today, we have a competitive Senior Women’s squad, development and Inner Warrior opportunities, a growing Girls section and an U18 pathway bringing together players from several clubs across the local area.

Together, they are creating an increasingly visible pathway:

Girls → U18s → Development and Inner Warrior → Senior Women

It is a pathway we want our younger players to see and believe in.

But rugby at Canterbury is not only about reaching a senior first team.

Whether you are taking your first steps into rugby, developing through the age groups, looking to play competitively or simply want to enjoy the game and become part of a club, there is a place for you here.

From first experience to senior rugby, there is a place for everyone at Canterbury.

We want the Marine Travel Ground to have a real club atmosphere throughout the evening.

The clubhouse bar will be open from 5.30pm, with SCRUM Kitchen serving from 6.00pm.

Its special Pitchside Pre-Season Menu will offer everything for just £5.

All served with rice and topped with cheese and crispy onions.

So come down early, grab something to eat, enjoy a drink and take in the rugby as the evening builds towards Canterbury and Ashford’s Senior Men taking to the pitch at 7.30pm.

For our members and supporters, it is a chance to see the players preparing for the new season.

For our younger players, it is a chance to see where their rugby journey could take them.

For our partners, it is an opportunity to see first hand what their support helps us to build.

And for anyone thinking about getting involved with rugby, it is an invitation to come and discover Canterbury Rugby for yourself.
