East Kent Minis Festival

East Kent Minis Festival

We are delighted to host the East Kent Minis Rugby Festival this year and to welcome so many of our rugby friends to the Marine Travel Ground. We appreciate the effort it took to get here, and we hope you have a fantastic morning of rugby.

Our aim for today is simple: for everyone to have fun and enjoy playing rugby. As always, we want to ensure that the RFU core values are at the heart of everything we do. Players, parents, and coaches should all be familiar with these values and look to reinforce them at every opportunity. To remind you, the RFU core values are: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship (TREDS). At the end of the day, an award will be given to the team that best exemplifies these values.

Jazz Apple gym bags and fruit have been kindly donated for each player by our partners World Wide Fruit.

We can’t wait to see you at Canterbury Rugby Club for a fantastic day of rugby!

Event Details:

  • Location: Canterbury Rugby Club, Merton Lane North, Canterbury, Kent, CT4 7DZ
  • Date: 27th April 2025
  • Time: Registration 9.00am in the clubhouse
  • Coaches briefing: 9.30am
  • First matches kick off: 10.00am
  • Festival ends: 1.30pm

There will be no overall festival presentation at the end of play. We ask that each club does their
own awards and presentations to its own players. Each player at the festival will receive a
medal.

Gate/entry fees

Entry to all grounds will be £2.50 per adult (children free entry).

facilities and event guidelines

  • Food and drink are available from the clubhouse.
  • Toilets can be found in the clubhouse and in the new block behind.
  • First aid and safeguarding are located in the marquee down from the clubhouse.
  • Spectators and coaches are asked to avoid standing on the pitches, and stay behind the roped-off areas along the touchlines, and try lines. This will help preserve the playing surface for the senior teams when full-size pitches are reinstated next week.

If you need anything at all, please speak to a member of the Canterbury coaching team. Enjoy the festival!

The festival is a mixed ability event and we would ask that you take note of this for your team selections. Mini rugby is non competitive so there is to be no recording of scores. Lets keep those smiles on everyone’s faces.

Tournament Rules:

Regulation 15 Age Grade Rules will apply to all rugby games. The festival rules can be found in the mini section of the KCRFU Website www.kentrugby.org

Note for Coaches:

We kindly ask all coaches to lead by example and show respect for referees, opponents, and the game itself. Your positive attitude and fair play will help create a fun and supportive environment for everyone. Let’s make this a memorable and enjoyable experience for all!

Guidelines for Coaches and Officials:

  • Preparation: Make sure your players are ready
  • Conduct: Lead by example and respect the rules
  • Safety: Prioritise player welfare

Referees and Medical Support:

We have a team of volunteer referees from our Colts teams so you can focus on coaching but we may not be able to cover every match.
