26/27 Senior Fixtures are Live

The excitement is building across Merton Lane as we officially roll out the full fixture list for the 2026/27 season. With the Men’s 1st XV fixtures already confirmed, we’re now thrilled to announce that the Pilgrims, Canons, Deacons, and Zingari have joined the schedule, completing our lineup of five senior men’s teams ready to represent Canterbury RFC with pride.
But that’s not all.
This season also marks another important step forward for the club as we proudly confirm the fixtures for both our Women’s 1st XV and our new Women’s Development Team. Their continued growth, commitment, and impact across the club reflect the strength of women’s rugby at Canterbury and the thriving pathway we are building for female players of all levels.
From the intensity of competitive rugby to the pure enjoyment of social fixtures, this season captures everything that makes our club special. Every squad brings its own identity, its own energy, and its own story, and together they form the heartbeat of Canterbury rugby.

Notice of Annual General Meeting 2026

Canterbury Rugby Club’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Tuesday 18th August 2026, at The Marine Travel Ground, with doors open from 7.00pm for a prompt 7.30pm start.

All members are warmly invited to attend and play a part in the governance of our club as we reflect on the 2025/26 season and prepare for the year ahead.

AGM Details:

Venue: The Clubhouse, Merton Lane, Canterbury
Date: Tuesday 18th August 2026
Time: 7.00pm arrival for a 7.30pm start

Agenda Highlights:

  1. Apologies for absence
  2. Approval of 2025 AGM minutes
  3. Chairman’s report on the 2025/26 season
  4. Financial report and approval of club account
  5. To consider a resolution disapplying the provisions of the Cooperative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, that the Membership of the Club represented at the Annual General Meeting do not require an Audit to be completed on the Accounts for the Year Ended 31st May 2027, subject to confirmation at the AGM that the accounts for the Year Ended 31st May 2027 meet the requirements.

We welcome nominations and motions from members for the following:

  • Officers: President, Treasurer, Secretary
  • Executive Committee Members
  • Motions relating to Club Rules (in accordance with Rule 8.5)

All nominations and motions must be submitted in writing, be proposed and seconded, and sent to the Club Secretary via email: secretary@cantrugby.co.uk

Deadline for all submissions: Midnight, Sunday 2nd August 2026 (nominations will be for the 27/28 season)

Lydia Ticehurst Represents England at the European Touch Championships

CRFC is proud to celebrate one of our own as Lydia Ticehurst takes to the international stage, representing England at the 2026 European Touch Championships in Vichy, France.

Lydia has earned selection for the England Touch Mixed Open squad, competing against some of the best players from across Europe in a highly competitive division featuring 13 national teams.

Representing your country is one of the highest honours in any sport, and everyone at Canterbury rugby is delighted to see Lydia’s hard work, dedication, and commitment rewarded with this fantastic opportunity. Having developed through the game while proudly wearing the black and amber, Lydia is now showcasing those talents on the European stage.

The European Touch Championships bring together the continent’s top nations for several days of elite competition, providing players with the chance to test themselves against the very best that Europe has to offer. Lydia’s selection is a testament not only to her individual ability but also to the growing strength and success of touch rugby within our club and wider rugby community.

CRFC has always taken great pride in supporting players as they progress through their rugby journey and seeing club members achieve representative honours is something that inspires players of all ages across the club.

As the tournament gets underway in Vichy, the entire Black and Amber family will be following Lydia’s progress closely and cheering on the England squad from home.

We wish Lydia and the rest of Team England the very best of luck throughout the European Touch Championships.

World Cup semi final 2026

Watch England v Argentina at the Marine Travel Ground

England are through to the World Cup semi-final, and the Marine Travel Ground is the place to watch every moment.

On Wednesday, 15 July, England face Argentina for a place in the World Cup final. Can Bellingham, Kane, and the team overcome Argentinian flair and write a new chapter in one of international football’s most famous rivalries?

Join us at the Marine Travel Ground and experience the match surrounded by fellow supporters, with the bar open from 6.00pm ahead of the 8.00pm kick off.

SCRUM Kitchen will be serving its pizza menu along with two speciality World Cup burgers.

The English
Cheddar cheese and bacon on a meaty steak burger.

The Argentinian
Chimichurri and cheese on a succulent steak burger.

Both are served with fries for £10, with food available until the end of full-time play.

There is plenty of space to meet friends, bring the family, and enjoy the build-up before watching England carry the hopes of a nation.

You can also leave the usual matchday parking scramble behind. Parking at the Marine Travel Ground is completely free.

Expect cold drinks, good food, a lively crowd, and an atmosphere worthy of a World Cup semi-final.

Pickle will also be on security detail, although we cannot guarantee he will remain fully focused on the burgers.

Coaches Development Day

Our Community Team had the pleasure of hosting an internal Coaches Development Day for our dedicated volunteer Mini & Youth coaches over the weekend.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and commitment our coaches give to supporting the next generation of players. Days like these are a fantastic opportunity to invest in their continued development, helping them build the skills, knowledge, and confidence to inspire young people both on and off the pitch.

Thank you to everyone who took part and for everything you do for our club and community. We also would love to thank Scrum Kitchen for an amazing breakfast and lunch spread – only the best for our coaches.
