Join us for the Canterbury Rugby Club Golf Day at the beautiful Faversham Golf Club on Thursday 8 October 2026.

Bringing together club members, supporters, partners, sponsors and friends of Canterbury Rugby, the Golf Day promises an afternoon of great company, friendly competition and plenty of entertainment, all while supporting the club.

Cost: £300 per four ball

FIRST TEAM SEASON STARTS ON TIME

The club is advising supporters that the new league season definitely starts on September 5th with a National 2 East home game against Old Albanian at The Marine Travel Ground. The advice comes after the Rugby Football Union announced a delay to the start of the season until September 21st because the dry weather has made pitches unsafe. The second home match, against Esher on September 19th, also goes ahead.

Confusion has arisen as many supporters understood this to be a blanket ban on all games, which is not the case. First team league fixtures will proceed as advertised and the club’s principal pitch is in excellent condition.

Club activity update following RFU guidance

Following the latest guidance issued by the Rugby Football Union issued due to the recent drought, Canterbury Rugby Club can confirm the current arrangements for fixtures, training and wider rugby activity.

First Team fixtures will go ahead as scheduled. All other rugby activity is currently postponed until further notice, though please check the club website or our socials for updates.

Training sessions will continue, taking place either at The Marine Travel Ground or on Gilham’s Field at The Langton. Coaches and team managers will communicate directly with players and parents to confirm the arrangements for their respective squads.

The safety and wellbeing of our players, coaches, volunteers and wider club community remain our highest priority. We are equally mindful of our responsibility towards visiting teams, their coaches, officials and supporters when they attend The Marine Travel Ground.

We will continue to monitor developments closely, alongside any further guidance issued by the RFU. Coaches, players, parents, members and supporters will be kept informed of any changes as soon as further information becomes available.

Anyone due to attend the club is encouraged to check the latest information before travelling and to follow any guidance communicated by their team or the club.

Senior Men and Women. The next generation. One club.

Canterbury Rugby is inviting members, supporters, partners and the wider community to the Marine Travel Ground on Thursday 20 August for a special pre-season evening showcasing where our club is today, and the pathways we are building for the future.

Canterbury and Ashford will come together for pre-season rugby, with the Senior Men’s joint session starting at 7.30pm.

But this evening is about much more than one senior training session.

It is an opportunity to celebrate rugby across the club, with particular focus on the continuing growth of Women and Girls rugby at Canterbury.

A pathway that continues to grow

Canterbury Women have come a long way since the section was formed.

Today, we have a competitive Senior Women’s squad, development and Inner Warrior opportunities, a growing Girls section and an U18 pathway bringing together players from several clubs across the local area.

Together, they are creating an increasingly visible pathway:

Girls → U18s → Development and Inner Warrior → Senior Women

It is a pathway we want our younger players to see and believe in.

But rugby at Canterbury is not only about reaching a senior first team.

Whether you are taking your first steps into rugby, developing through the age groups, looking to play competitively or simply want to enjoy the game and become part of a club, there is a place for you here.

From first experience to senior rugby, there is a place for everyone at Canterbury.

We want the Marine Travel Ground to have a real club atmosphere throughout the evening.

The clubhouse bar will be open from 5.30pm, with SCRUM Kitchen serving from 6.00pm.

Its special Pitchside Pre-Season Menu will offer everything for just £5.

Results Day

Results Day breakfast at Canterbury Rugby Club

Results Day is a big moment for young people and their families, and this August Canterbury Rugby Club and SCRUM Kitchen are marking the occasion with a special £5 breakfast offer.

On both A Level Results Day, Thursday 13 August, and GCSE Results Day, Thursday 20 August, students who are about to collect their results, or have already received them, can enjoy breakfast with a drink for just £5 at SCRUM Kitchen.

Whether you are looking for somewhere to settle the nerves before collecting your results, meeting friends afterwards, or simply taking a moment to think about what comes next, you will be very welcome at the Marine Travel Ground.

Results Day can bring excitement, relief, nerves and plenty of different emotions. Whatever is written on that results sheet, there is always something to be proud of and another opportunity ahead.

Club Safeguarding Officer

We are recruiting – Club Safeguarding Officer

Canterbury Rugby Football Club is looking for a caring, calm and approachable individual to become its Club Safeguarding Officer.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. The Club Safeguarding Officer plays a central role in championing the safety and welfare of children and adults at risk throughout the club.
The successful applicant will act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensure that matters are reported through the appropriate channels and help everyone at the club understand their safeguarding responsibilities.

The role also includes supporting safer recruitment, helping to coordinate safeguarding training, leading the annual safeguarding audit and ensuring that club policies, procedures and contact information remain current and accessible.

Applicants should be able to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially, communicate with children and adults at risk in a caring and meaningful way and remain calm when responding to difficult or upsetting situations.

The successful applicant will be required to become a member of Canterbury RFC, attend relevant committee meetings, undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and complete the RFU In Touch course within three months of taking up the role.

Marketing Coordinator

Canterbury Rugby Football Club is looking for an organised, proactive and commercially minded Marketing Coordinator to join its growing Marketing Communications structure.

Working closely with the Head of Marketing and Commercial team, the successful candidate will help turn the club’s marketing strategy and emerging opportunities into coordinated campaigns that deliver measurable results.

The role will support activity across matchdays, hospitality, events, SCRUM Kitchen, Soak House, sponsorship, community rugby, membership and the club’s wider commercial offer. It will also provide an important link between those identifying opportunities and the Marketing Communications Team responsible for developing and publishing content.
